About Overly Hautz

For over 90 years, Overly Hautz has been more than a manufacturer — we’ve been the backbone of the Power Transmission industry. From the earliest days of industrial motors to today’s most advanced drive systems, our mounts, bases, rails, and platforms have supported the machines that keep the world turning.

Our story is built on precision, reliability, and innovation. As a leading global designer of electric motor and gearbox mounting systems, we proudly engineer and manufacture the industry’s most complete line of fabricated metal mounting solutions — right here in the U.S.A.

Whether you’re designing the next generation of rail systems or need a custom platform that holds steady under pressure, Overly Hautz is your trusted partner. We understand your challenges because we’ve spent decades solving them — one solid, secure mount at a time.

Founded in 1934, Overly Hautz pioneered the concept of fabricated motor bases and rails — and has since built over 6 million motor mounts. Today, we remain a driving force in the power transmission industry, offering a complete line of ready-made motor mounts and rails engineered to fit all standard NEMA configurations — available right off the shelf.

When standard isn’t enough, we deliver custom and modified solutions to meet the most demanding motor mounting challenges. Our unmatched archive of successful designs and motor specifications spans more than nine decades of innovation — a resource that sets us apart in solving even the most complex fit and function issues.

As an industry leader, Overly Hautz continues to invest in innovation. From patented product enhancements to advanced manufacturing technologies — including robotic welders, precision lasers, and an expanded finished goods inventory — we’re committed to delivering quality, efficiency, and long-term value.

At the core of our success is our people. We proudly support our team with a strong commitment to employee well-being, including competitive compensation, healthcare, profit sharing, and a matching 401(k) program.

Should I use a single or double adjusting motor base?

We recommend a single adjusting motor base for NEMA frame sizes 56-215 and a double adjusting motor base for NEMA frame sizes 254-449. Note that larger frame sizes may also require a heavy duty motor mount, please refer to this chart:  http://overlyhautz.com/pdf/HPandRPMChart.pdf

Do you offer replacement hardware kits?

Yes, we have hardware kits for most stock items. Please contact us for a quote.

Do I need a heavy duty motor mounting solution?

It depends on the Horsepower, RPM and application of your motor. We suggest a heavy duty mount for anything running above 150HP at 1800RPM. Heavy duty motor mounts should also be considered for applications that involve shaking or vibration.  Please see this chart for more info:  http://overlyhautz.com/pdf/HPandRPMChart.pdf

How long does it take to fabricate a custom-built motor base?

We specialize in custom-built motor mounting solutions! Please contact us for a quote. From time of order, production time will depend on the scope of the job, materials used and fabrication requirements. We will always do our absolute best to be efficient, make a high quality product and meet your delivery timeframe.

Do you have metric motor bases?

Metric (IEC) motor bases made with metric hardware are made to order. However, if you do not need metric hardware, many customers can use a standard NEMA motor base with US standard hardware, as most IEC frame sizes cross with NEMA frame sizes.  Please contact us with questions or for a quote.

Do you make bases for gearboxes?

Yes, we frequently make bases to mount gearboxes. This is a custom built item, please contact us for a quote.

What is your return policy?

All returned products must reference a “Return Authorization Number” from the Overly Hautz Company. Standard products may be returned, freight prepaid, within 30 days of shipment date with no re-stocking charge assessed.
